COVID-19 HEALTH NOTICE - Some local schools are not counting reported exposure to COVID-19 as a reason to keep a child home from school / quarantine. The Ice Fishing event staff is using the CDC definitions of exposure and quarantine from troop activities to keep everyone as safe as possible.

The CDC guidelines are updated frequently and are described here: COVID-19: When to Quarantine | CDC
As of today (2022/01/07) -

  • the definition of exposure is being within 6 feet of an infected individual for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more in a 24 hour period.
  • Fully vaccinated (see CDC link for what this means for each age group) individuals should be tested 5 days after exposure to infected individual (The troop asks you to skip events during these 5 days), and if the test is negative may participate in activities
  • Unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or those unable to test should quarantine for 10 days following an exposure
  • Individuals with a prior confirmed positive and fully recovered within 90 days should skip events during 5 days after exposure to an infected individual, and may participate after 5 days if they show no symptoms. Testing should be done at the advice of a medical professional, as it may be misleading under these circumstances.
  • Any positive test result or symptoms of illness are reasons to stay home, this includes otherwise mild symptoms that are not already known from another cause.
  • COVID screening will occur upon check-in for all participants, and once daily for overnight participants, troop chaperones must make arrangements for transportation and supervision in the event your scouts/adults do not pass the screening process.
