MONEY - What goes into these expense categories?

Nut Program and Cookie Program columns: Note that if deposits and Council withdrawals are entered correctly the Troop proceeds will show at the bottom of the columns. If you enter what your Troop should earn for the sale you will see the variance listed. This is a good way to discover if any deposits may be missing, or there are still products to sell.

Other Group Money-earning Projects Examples would include: bake sale, blanket sale, car wash, pet wash, or rummage sale. Be sure to get Council approval before engaging in any additional money earning projects.

Other Income This could include extra payments from parents that are over and above dues, registration, activity fees, or program sales. Or, money that is received from another Troop (or Council) that has disbanded and designated to your Troop.

Activity Fees This category covers any Troop outings the girls go on together. If parents pay to attend the program that money needs to be put into the Activity Fees paid in column. Examples are: bowling, going to a movie or show, sleep-overs at Discovery World or other locations as a group, camping at any location, pottery making, Build-a-Bear outing, dinner outings, Council programs, school programs, and community programs.

Troop Supplies This category covers food, decorations, craft and activity supplies, Program Pathway materials such as Journey Books for both girls and leaders.

Insignia & recognition costs This category covers Uniforms, Council and Troop insignia to put on Sashes or Vests, activity and fun patches, badges, pins, petals, certificates, and girl level recognitions (i.e. Daisy, Brownie, Junior, etc.)

Other expenses This category covers bank fees and other expenses to maintain your account. If your account earns interest or dividends it would go here. It may also be a designation for expenses made on the Troop account in error that must be returned to the Troop by a leader
